"God's will: Nothing more; nothing less; nothing else; at any cost."

Ernie Moquin, Jr.

Ernie

Born 1960

Hi, I’m Ernie, I’ve been a mechanic since I was a kid, half Portuguese, so I’ve always had a love for boats and the sea. I’ve had a vision of loading Bibles on a wood boat since I was 6 years old. The last eight years, we’ve been in Channel Islands Harbor and I’ve been concentrating on learning all I can about everything “boat,” by focusing most of my work on service, maintenance, repair and repower of all types of boats, power & sail. I work on just about anything & know I can bring that knowledge & enthusiasm to this mission cruise!

Cindy Moquin

Born 1963

I was born and mostly raised in Texas, far from the ocean, but always knowing the ocean is where I belong! I am a registered nurse, specializing in psychiatric/mental health nursing for years now, but a nurse first. So I know my medical training will serve us well at sea and in the mission work we are setting out to do. I believe God is calling us to make this voyage for His glory and am ready to be of service in this way for Him! I still have much to learn about sailing and navigation before we leave, but I am excited to be getting ready daily. Our young adult children are all supportive of this undertaking and my step son, Joe is even planning to join us for at least a year of the mission! How neat!

I am confident that other Church and family members will come and visit us in ports along the way and what a testimony we will be to every one we meet.

Steve Gable

Born 1958

I met Cindy first in 1999 and have been teaching her sailing ever since.. I figure by the time we leave, she’ll be ready! I love the sea and adventure! Ready to go and do all I can to help others. Helping people is a responceability we all have and I am very lucky to be able to share this mission with Cindy, Joe and Ernie.

Joe

Born 1990

I am Ernie’s son; ready for the adventure. Will be a good break from college for a year.

I have been learning to be a mechanic

from my dad most of my life so far, so I will be able to trouble shoot the engine/electrical as needed on the voyage. I will be a certified open water diver as soon as I finish my class; those skills will come in handy out there.

We will have a great adventure and will be able to bless others along the way!

Plus two cats:
Rowdy "Teeny Weeny"

“Rowdy”

Born 2006 (Santa Paula, California)

I was found at the pound by Katrin;

I wouldn’t stop meowing, so she picked me!

I am a ball of fire without the flame!

I am everywhere, all the time… can’t WAIT

to get on the open water! I am fierce,

but loveable. Love to snuggle and explore!

My motto..”bring it on!!”

Sandpiper "Itty Bitty"

“Sandpiper”

Born 2001 (Ventura, California)

I came to live on the boat when

I was a kitten. Peter (living on the

boat next slip) found me for the

Moquins when they first moved onto

Liberator (before she even became Liberator). I used to

hide out in Katrin’s room all the time and sneak out to

eat and visit cat box only; but now since Tahuna left,

I am more social. Still timid around newcomers,

but I’m in it for the long haul!
